Sherri Tanferani Licensed Psychologist, PhD.
A combination of professional achievement and dedication to the wholeness of every individual has marked Dr. Tanferani’s career. President of Affinity Psychological Services, she has more than a decade of experience as a psychotherapist and has provided supervision and assistantship to many current psychologists.
Dr. Tanferani is an expert in Cognitive, Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), Behavioral changes for addictive/compulsive behaviors, Behavioral and Cognitive Modifications for enduring weight loss, Psychoanalytic therapy and Person Centered Planning. She has also taught Introduction to Psychology and Psychological Statistics classes at Cochise College in Douglas, Arizona.
Dr. Tanferani received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Psychology from Humboldt State University. She received her PH.D. in Clinical Psychology from California Graduate Institute, Westwood, California Campus. She also has wide experience in forensic psychology, as well as in completing court ordered evaluations and competency training.
Dr. Tanferani is also experienced in providing individual and family psychotherapy. She is experienced in providing counseling and assessment for Anxiety, Depression, weight loss modification, substance abuse issues, ADHD/ADD, and drug effects and withdrawal symptoms. Dr. Tanferani has provided psychological services for individuals suffering from psychotic and major affective disorders and individuals suffering from chronic medical illnesses that have a psychological component such as Diabetes, COPD, Obesity and Cancer.
